Terms & Conditions of Use
By booking a session at Yard Sauna, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
If you are booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to ensure all participants have read and understood these terms and will follow them.
1. General Use & Responsibility
All guests use the sauna, cold plunge, and surrounding area at their own risk.
Yard Sauna is located in an outdoor setting where surfaces may be uneven, slippery, or wet. Please take care moving around.
The sauna is located within a private, working yard. Please remain in designated areas and do not approach horses, animals, or equipment elsewhere on site.
Dogs and other animals are not permitted on site.
Guests must follow all instructions provided by staff, signage, and these terms.
2. Health & Medical Safety
Saunas involve exposure to high heat and cold contrast. Please consult your GP before booking if any of the following apply:
You are pregnant or suspect you may be
You take prescription or over-the-counter medication
You have cardiovascular conditions or high/low blood pressure
You have a pacemaker, defibrillator, or heart condition
You have recently had surgery, injury, or joint swelling
You have metal implants, rods, pins, or artificial joints
You have a chronic or underlying medical condition
You have had a recent heart attack (within 6 months)
Yard Sauna cannot accept responsibility for health issues related to sauna use where guidance has not been followed.
If you have allergies (including to plants or essential oils), please inform us before your session.
If you feel unwell, light-headed, or dizzy at any time, leave the sauna immediately.
3. Children & Age Policy
Community sessions are for adults (18+) only.
Young people aged 7–17 are permitted only during private bookings, and must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.
Children under 7 are not permitted for safety reasons.
4. Behaviour & Sauna Etiquette
To ensure a calm and safe environment, guests must follow these guidelines:
Dress Code
Swimwear must be worn at all times.
Shoes, sandals, or flip-flops must be removed before entering the sauna.
Jewellery or metal accessories should be removed to avoid burns.
You must sit on your own clean towel.
Avoid entering if you have recently applied fake tan or hair dye.
Inside the Sauna
Enter and exit safely, closing the door gently.
Keep access areas clear.
Sessions inside the sauna should be kept to 10–20 minutes at a time, followed by a cooldown.
Do not touch the stove, heater guard, or stones – they are extremely hot.
Only pour the provided sauna water on the stones, and pour slowly.
Do not bring your own oils, scrubs, salts, or products.
Alcohol, smoking, and vaping are not permitted.
Yard Sauna reserves the right to remove guests who behave in a way that risks their own safety or the comfort of others.
5. Weather Conditions & Session Safety
The sauna is weatherproof and operates in most weather conditions, including rain and cold.
Sessions may be rescheduled in the event of severe winds, storms, or lightning, where use of the sauna or site would be unsafe.
If a session must be postponed for weather-related safety reasons, we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange a new date.
Our sessions run in most weather, including rain and cold. These conditions are part of the outdoor sauna experience and do not qualify for refunds or rescheduling. You may still change or cancel your booking up to 48 hours in advance as normal.
6. Cooling Off, Cold Plunge & Water Safety
Our outdoor cold plunge is available for use at your own risk.
Please rinse before entering to help keep the water clean for everyone.
The plunge is unsupervised; you are responsible for your own safety.
If the plunge must be closed for maintenance or water quality reasons, sessions will continue as normal – refunds are not issued, but we may offer rescheduling where appropriate.
7. Personal Belongings
Yard Sauna is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.
Please bring only essential belongings and keep valuables at home.
8. Cancellations, Refunds & Late Arrival
Cancellations or rescheduling are permitted up to 48 hours before your session.
Within 48 hours, bookings are non-refundable.
Late arrivals may reduce your session time; sessions end at the scheduled time to accommodate other guests.
Gift vouchers are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person.
9. Right to Refuse Entry
We may refuse entry or ask a guest to leave if:
they are intoxicated or under the influence
they do not follow safety instructions
they behave in a way that may endanger themselves or others
they breach these terms
This is for the safety and wellbeing of all visitors.
10. Agreement
By completing a booking, you confirm that:
you have read, understood, and agree to these terms
you take full responsibility for your own health and safety during the session
you will ensure any guests you book for also comply with these terms
