What is Yard Sauna?
A hand-built, wood-fired sauna tucked away in a quiet rural yard in Richmond. We offer small, community sauna sessions designed to help people slow down, unwind, and reconnect - with themselves, others, and nature.
How many people does the sauna hold?
Up to 6 guests per session. We keep it intimate so the experience stays calm and personal.
What can I expect from a session?
Each session lasts 50 minutes. You’ll be welcomed on arrival, shown how to use the sauna safely, and then left to enjoy the warmth and rhythm of the session. You’ll have full access to our hand-built, wood-fired sauna, outdoor cold plunges, fire pit and complimentary refreshments at your own pace.
How hot does it get?
The sauna typically sits between 75–90°C - enough for a deep, restorative heat that you can adjust using the sauna ladle and stones.
-
How do I book?
All bookings are made online via our website. We don’t take bookings over social media or phone. You’ll receive a confirmation email with details once your session is booked.
Can I book a private session?
Yes - the whole sauna can be booked for private use (up to 6 people). Perfect for a group of friends or a quiet solo session.
Can I reschedule or cancel my booking?
You can reschedule or cancel up to 48 hours before your session for a full refund or transfer. Within 48 hours, we’re unable to offer a refund as we keep capacity limited.
What should I bring?
Please bring swimwear, a towel to sit on and to dry, a water bottle, and flip-flops or sliders. A robe or warm layer for after your session is also recommended.
What should I wear?
Swimwear is required. Think simple: swimsuit, trunks, or shorts.
